Before trying to figure out why something doesn't work, first be sure you have the latest updates:
GET THE LATEST BUGDOM 2 UPDATE
GET THE MAC OS 9.1 UPDATE
GET THE MAC OS 9.2 UPDATE
If you are on Mac OS 9 and you are getting Type 12, Type 2, or Type 3 errors then the best thing to do is to simply get the free OS 9.2 update. If you are on 9.0 then you'll first need to install 9.1. Then from there you can install 9.2.
Q: The keyboard doesn't respond to key presses.
A: If the keyboard is not responding then the OS X HID Manager is malfunctioning - very common problem with OS X that Apple has yet to fix. Most of the time you can simply reboot your computer and it will start working again. Other times you have to physically plug your keyboard into a different USB slot. You might also want to try deleting the Bugdom 2 preferences folder to make sure everything is reset. If all else fails, then press the F2 key anywhere in the game to get to the Input Config dialog, and at the bottom is a checkbox labeled "Don't Use HID". Check that and the game will revert to using old-style keyboard input which does not use the buggy OS X HID Manager, but you cannot customize the controls or use gamepads or joysticks with the HID off.
Q: I get Type 12, Type 3, or Type 2 errors when I try to run the game.
A: These are generic Mac OS error which indicate that something isn't installed right. The best way to fix these problems is to simply get all of the latest free Mac OS 9 updates. If you are on 9.0 then you first need to get the 9.1 update. Then you should install the 9.2 update. See the links above.
Q: The game frequently freezes on my iMac DV SE.
A: This was a problem with the ATI drivers on Mac OS X, but it has been fixed in the 10.2.3 update, so if you are not already on 10.2.3 you should get it.
